I love open spaces, and suffer from a severe case of cubicalphobia.
In November of 2007 I was looking for my own "little piece of paradise". At that time I didn't find any websites that I felt did a good job of helping me in my search. So I did what any self-respecting workaholic would do... started a company and built one. But I wanted it to be different than existing sites, I wanted it to be a powerful resource for travelers, so we started where all trips start - with detailed destination information, and then we built out from there. Nearly two years and more than 2000 hours of overtime later, we launched ParadiseHunter.com
I'm a passionate advocate of vacation rentals - particularly for families with young children. I have 3 wonderful kids, but staying in a hotel room... well that's not much of a vacation for me and my wife... and if you're reading this, then you probably know what I'm talking about. To try to help travelers with really young kids, we added a search criteria to our website called "toddler friendly" whereby the unit owner is confirming that they have a high chair, a playpen, and gates for the stairs... we got that brilliant idea when our 3 month old daughter was sleeping in a bathtub in Hawaii.
During the last 2 years we also built a TV series called... Paradise Hunter. Clever title don't you think? We filmed the pilot in Costa Rica, and should be filming 12 more episodes within the year.
Look for us on networks around the world or watch us online at our website.
