The owners are aware of the bed bugs on premises and seem to think that their guests won't mind/notice.  my girlfriend and i started getting the bites and couldn't figure out where we were getting them until I flicked on the light in the middle of our second night and realized there were bugs all in the bedding.  We left immediately and tried to get a refund but that was a lost cause b/c the owners don't think its a big deal and "don't normally give refunds after the fact" . Maybe the authorities in PCB will follow up, maybe not.  JUST DON'T GO THERE! Here's the exact place I'm referring to:

That is without a doubt one of the worst things that can happen when you rent a vacation home.  Were you able to take some photos or video of these bugs? You should always try to get proof of whatever is wrong before you leave because it is very difficult to fight back when you don't live nearby the area of jurisdiction.  I suggest you blacklist this vacation home on the Vacation Rentals WatchDog website at http://www.vrwd.org.   In any case, for the future I suggest you always carry a bottle of lysol spray when you travel to make sure all beds and couches are disinfected.... at least that is what I do!

Ouch. What kind of service is that? They should grant you a refund after that inconvenience! Thanks for the heads-up. I surely won't be going there (until I confirm that the management is a whole lot better than from your experience).

We have a lovely, clean home here on the beach...this is obviously some deranged jerk playing games.  Find a life!

It is not common for guests to post complaints unless something really upset them (vrwd.org received only about 50 vacation rental complaints last year, but I'm sure there were many more unhappy vacation renters than that!).  I am not sure what the vacation rental complaint statistics are... however for restaurants for example, only 1 every 20 unhappy customers files a complaint.

In any case, usually it is highly recommended that home owners do everything possible to please an upset guest.  An unhappy customer can ruin your vacation rental trust and affect your bookings in a negative way by posting their complaints online.
