Honeymoon Rental for a friend - Marine overseas wants to pay for Hotel Stay

Beware got a new one yesterday, did not save sorry, was laughing too hard thinking how stupid do they think we are.  The scheme is the same, want to pay in advance with an Cashiers Check from overseas that will never clear, and will need an amount of the payment be forwarded in advance to the actual stay to a third party for transporation etc...

This one looks pretty good, the first thing I have learned over the years replying to real clients is that the first email is usually rather general and has several basic questions.  VERY little personal detail is shared or circumstances.  ALSO MONEY is never an problem regarding the costs associated with the stay.  Never try to haggle or ask for promotions, which is odd.

This email is from a person claiming to be unable to attend their friends wedding in the US, because they are serving in the military overseas (Oh how can you deny a TROOPER?)  And he wants to pay for thier Honeymoon stay, and would like to arrange EVERYTHING before they arrive in country.  In my case Costa Rica.

After the first reply regarding pricing etc...Is when he sends to WAY too long email regarding how he wants to pay and how the advance money is to be used etc...

    So heads up.

    Rick

I got one too, except this gent said he was on a US Carrier in the Gulf and couldn't speak to me in person. I always like to speak to my guests, this way I get a sense of them. He sent me a $10,000 check, postmarked from Germany without a return address, on some US bank. I Googled bank and called customer service, and after giving them the bank account number they confirmed it was a fake. I just recieved this one below. They sent it to about 20 emails, and didn't bother hiding addresses. Odd thing about this one is that the first paragraph is bolded, but it doesn't show up here. luis ............................................. Hello, My name is Jessica Spanglewe,I am a very simply and quiet person to live with. I love travelling, sporting and enjoy meeting people. I dont smoke but do not mind people who do being around me. I am cool, pretty laid back and easy going person and like to have a roommate who is very responsible and understanding roommate or a seperate room or apartment.... However, please i'll like to know the total move in cost of the room as well as the picture of the house as i'll not be able to check out the place until my arrival, so that i can make arrangement for payment prior to my arrival since i'll be coming down from Manchester City, as soon as i'm able to secure a comfortable room. Thanks as i anxiously await your mail. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon. Regards Jessica Spanglewe
