I am looking forward to escaping the city life for about one week.  I don't care where, as long as it has views on the beach.  Can anyone recommend me an inexpensive beach house/condo?  I am looking to spend around $1,000 for the week.

There are many ways to search for what you are looking for.  You may go on some vacation rental portals and refine your search by price and other criteria.  Some cheaper vacation rentals can be found also on craiglist, however I don't recommend you using craiglist if you are not willing to seriously investigate each listed vacation home (there are so many vacation rental scams listed on craiglist because it's free for anyone to post listings there).

You can rent along the beaches in our area for easily under $1000 per week.

Check out www.floridagulfvacation.com , www.ourcondo.com or www.indianshoresvacation.com .

The Gulf Beaches are a laid back alternative to the busier east coast of Florida. You sound like to need to just relax and rejuvinate.

Area Information can be obtained at the chamber of commerce site www.tampabaybeaches.com

Enjoy your time at the Beach

You might try ebay as sometimes people have last minute cancellations and austion the weeks off (in fact my wife and I have one of our homes listed under $1000 on ebay right now!). Also, Regarding the craigslist scams and others, just make sure that the people and or properties are either listed with the Chamber of Commerse or at least have a fairly long history with a reputable listing service like VRBO.com. Good Luck with your search! -Trevor www.whitesandvacationrentals.com    Ebay item >> http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=170203269743&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=007

There are an abundance of beautiful homes and condos for rent up and down Florida’s East and West Coast.  You can find spectacular deals now that the real estate bubble in Florida has popped.  A couple of specific areas I would recommend are Destin, Clearwater Beach, Longboat Key and Palm Beach.

hello everyone,

I guess my question is how far do you wish to travel to get there? Like does it have to be in Florida, or just USA or would Canada be good----that sort of thing? Not sure if you want to make it into a big getaway or what? Are you thinking only of where you can drive to easily and a short trip? These things were not mentioned in your post, you see.
