Chesapeake Bay House in St. Leonard, MD, advertised on HomeAway.com

While this house has a magnificant view, it does not sleep the number of people advertised and its furnishings and appliances are poorly maintained. Complaints to the owner, John Mesirow, and the website where it was advertised, did not yield any satisfaction. Here are the problems with this property: The bed in the loft is so bad that our daughter and her husband slept on the floor. The hollows in the mattress attested to the fact that it is long past its useful life. My elderly aunt was forced to sleep on the closed sleep sofa because the mattress springs were very uncomfortable. The third bedroom in the lower level is not adequate for four people. Our three teenagers sharied it, and it really was not large enough for them. The sofa in the living room is difficult to sit in because it was so low and the cushions slipped. Also, there are no reading lamps. The dishwasher and the compactor need to be serviced. The dishwasher is difficult to start because the controls were not working properly. The compactor is difficult to open, so it is basically useless. The dining room and kitchen area rugs were filthy.
