I am thrilled to say the oil spill has not impacted the beach where I work and live! The beach is still incrediably white and beautiful. The water is blue and pristine. Guests are enjoying widing the waves and strolling on the beach for shells. We have a blog on our website www.sunsetproperties.com which contains photos, videos and daily updates on our area.
Sunset Properties Assistant Manager, Katie, was arrested today for a good cause! She was placed in the Gulf Shores Police Car and hauled into town where she spent two hours on the phone calling everyone she knew asking for donations for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, MDA. Katie was able to raise $800. This was enough to send one child who has MDA to camp. She was very excited to be able to participate in such a great cause. And, we at Sunset Properties are very proud of her!
What was formerly known as Ft. Morgan Marina has undergone a transformation and is now Gulf Shores Yacht Club. The world famous Tacky Jacks restaurant in Orange Beach has opened a 2nd location in the Yacht Club. The dry storage area for boats has expanded along with the number of boat slips. Charter fishing (both off shore and in shore), dolphin cruises and dinner cruises are available. Sunset Properties offers accommodations surrounding the new Yacht club, which can all be viewed on their website at www.sunsetproperties.com.
Yes, the economy is in a downturn. However, viewing our upcoming rentals, it appears the economy is not going to keep people from coming on vacation to the beach!! Our Ft. Morgan beach condos and Ft. Morgan beach houses are consistently booking. We are offering great competitive rates and vacation specials, so that may be why we are staying full. According to our online booking engine and web tracking, The Dunes Condos, The Indies Condos, Navy Cove Condos and all of our beach houses in Ft. Morgan are being viewed at a higher rate than last year! We are so excited to have our repeat customers returning to see us and are looking forward to helping our new customers create a beach vacation memory that will last a lifetime!
We are extremely proud to say, the employees of Sunset Properties in Ft. Morgan, AL were treated to a 5 day cruise to Mexico on Carnival Cruise Line. We realize, without a shadow of a doubt, we would not be where we are today without their hard work, dedication and tireless effort. We strive to make certain every guest and owner who stays with us understands how important they are. In turn, we wanted to make sure each of our employees recognized how valuable they are to our operation and how deep our appreciation for them runs. As we approach spring break and the summer vacation rental seasons, we are anticipating a high volume of guests to filter through our gorgeous Gulf front beach houses and condos. After a relaxing cruise, we are all ready & anxious to see our repeat guests and excited to meet our new ones!
We are in the middle of our Snowbird season in Ft. Morgan. We have several activities planned for our "Birds" while they are staying in their winter homes. Some of the classes are "Making Personal Greeting Cards" and "Painting Classes". With the incredibly warm weather, several of our birds are beach combing for Sea Beads while others are playing horse shoes or meandering through the Historical Ft. Morgan. The Dauphin Island Ferry is always full with “Birds” taking day trips to Ft. Gaines, to the Sea Lab and to Mobile.

What an awesome place to live and work!! I named my
company Sunset Properties because of all the magnificent sunsets that occur on
the tip of Ft. Morgan peninsula. Majestic colors can
transcend from hues of blues & lavenders to oranges & golds. A
common sight is seeing guests line their condo or beach house balconies sipping their cocktail or families gathering around the patio dinning table rehashing memories of
the day as they watch the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico.
We have the luxury of being nestled next to the historic Ft. Morgan. Our west end condos have an extra balcony
that not only faces the Gulf, but also gazes over the civil war
bunkers. It's neat watching the Dauphin Island Ferry cross Mobile Bay and trails of cars filled with visitors make their way onto the island. Some stop in to look around while others continue the scenic journey to Gulf Shores, which is just 20 minutes away. But, the extra lucky ones are those that catch a sunset along the way.
